On the Menu #1: Smoke Resto

Everytime I go away from the island, there will always be picture on my mind of Sizzling Bulalo, Kaopad, Salpicao (made extra spicy on request) from Smoke Resto calling me to come back to Boracay F-A-S-T! What I truly love about eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and when drunk here is because they've got the best bulalo sabaw ever on the island. They offer cheap, affordable and reasonable meals in the heart of Boracay Island-- D'mall.

Why I Love Boracay #6

Huge Golden Sunset doesn't happen everyday. You are lucky if you catch it. I don't have a fancy camera, just a simple point and shoot digital camera with the waterproof, shockproof tricks so this photo doesn't do enough justice to show you how marvelous this Boracay sunset was that afternoon.
It is also said, when the sun sets this way -- huge and golden, Habagat season is on its way. In other words, Summer is almost over.

Mayor Says Keep The Island Clean!

Smokers beware. Beachfronts are no smoking area! It's about time that people mind what they throw, bury, leave on the sand because well you have hidden it but it will turn up eventually and trash isn't a pretty sight. It does ruin the pretty in Boracay.

Ariel's Point Cliff Diving

A new attraction for thrill seekers. Ariel's Point promotes ecotourism with their cliff diving adventure tour. The tour costs only Php1200 per person, all inclusive privileges. This would include barbecue lunch buffet, drinks, and adventure.

But even if you don't dare jump, your ticket to Ariel's Point is worth every cent since you have other options like snorkeling, paddle a raft, sunbathe, drink till you drop or whatever!

To end your trip, watch the sun go down, sailing.

A Php2500 Pocket Money 4D3N Boracay Vacation

School's Over; Now What To Do? Come to Boracay!

It is possible to plan a budget trip with the entire class this summer at Boracay Island with only Php2500 pocket money (airfare/roro fees not included) for 4 days/3 nights! Not kidding. So before deciding where to stay in the island, consider these:

1. GO LOW-KEY. Generally, it is expensive to stay in Station 1 and staying on botique hotels. Look for Guest Houses, Inns, Pension Houses with fan rooms.

The trick is keeping tabs on cheap yet neat lodging--inns, guest houses, dorm, etc. (hint: click the tab "low budget resort" from the sidebar). You can find Php200-300 a night's stay per person. I recommend Cena's Guest House, Starfire Resort, Tree House / D'Mario, Friends, etc.

2. BOODLE FIGHT YOUR MEALS. Buy food that you can share with friends. Think Pork Liempo and Lechon Manok at Andok's (it's open 24/7 anyway). Try Smoke Resto Boracay and also Jaspers (just within D'mall).

3. KICK-OFF PARTY AT THE HOTEL. Yep. Get a bottle or so, drink but not too much then dance the night away or go bar-hoppping.

4. THE PIRATES WAY. Sail with the Red Pirates Paraw if you want your money's woth in Paraw sailing Island Tour. Watch sunset on a paraw (boat) or have picnic on a different island. I think they charge Php250-300 per person. You can find Red Pirates at Angol Point. Ahoo hoo!

5.WALK, ITS GOOD FOR YOU. Walk to get around the island but if you prefer to ride a motorcycle or tricycle go regular not special. Share your ride with other commuters. Tricycle fare is only roughly Php7-15 pesos each.

A GOOD DEAL: (just an example)
Php300/person accommodation is good deal. *non aircon, basic double sharing occupancy.
Php200/person daily food budget is possible. *sharing with friends.
Php50/ person share on kick-off drinking

Come Visit Boracay!

I Eat Pizza on a Bikini For Dinner

I love Pizza! Sometimes I crave for Shakeys after being in the island for so long. I miss Manila sometimes for the fast food and other common food chains all over the metro that my taste buds salivate --but only sometimes.

i'm torn though because I'm not in favor of having big food chains taking over Boracay. What's next SaveMore Supermarket on the Island?

*Shrugs*

I love Cocomangas pizza and D'mario's/Treehouse Pizza. I haven't tried Don Vito's Pizza yet but I hope they invite me over hehehe =)

Anyway, if you don't want to leave the hotel. You can have your pizza delivered but I prefer having my pizza by the bay with my bikini tehee.

Shakey's Boracay is located at Boracay Peninsula Resort,
Barrio Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan
